THE GLEANING PROJECT

In 2007, we partnered with Western Colorado Farm & Ag Council and launched the Gleaning Project to get nutritious, locally-grown food to the tables of the needy while fostering a culture of self-sufficiency and independence.


The Gleaning Project:
	collects surplus fruits and vegetables from area producers, packers and processors
	places this food into our current distribution system
	provides instruction in incorporating fresh food into meal planning
	offers community garden plots through the Western Colorado Farm and Agriculture Council

In 2007, volunteers gleaned and distributed more than 60,000 pounds of apples, onions, squash and other fruits and vegetables to area families.
