A down economy has some people thinking more about their next meal, and a little less about Christmas.  Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage (3451 S. Rio Grande Ave.) is doing its part to help with its Check Out Hunger Program, which in Montrose benefits Sharing Ministries, Inc.  The program allows Natural Grocers customers to make a donation at the register, using either a $1 or $5 barcode. The franchise is matching donations up to a total of $50,000 made between now and December
31. Larger donations are also welcome at the register.
